With or without James Harden, the Houston Rockets will still advance to the 2020-21 season with many new factors in the squad. As of this point, everything looks pretty good.
Houston’s new superstar duo John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins this morning had an impressive comeback in NBA, leaving behind the traumatic past and ignoring the entire 2019-20 season.
Especially John Wall when the defender showed a strong image of the past, closing the game with 13 points with 9 assists and 5 rebounds in 19 minutes.
This is the first time Wall has returned to the field since 2018, so his performance is highly appreciated even though it was just a preseason game.
During the past 2 years, John Wall’s career seemed to be going to a dead end because of many complicated injuries. At first, he became infected after performing a heel spike surgery and suffered quite a lot.
Not long after, bad luck struck when Wall slipped while taking a shower at home and broke his Achilles tendon.
At this time, John is still on the supermax contract with Washington Wizards. Finally, in the last offseason, the team decided to trade John Wall with a pick to change to Russell Westbrook.
The deal reunited John Wall with DeMarcus Cousins, two former teammates in Kentucky.
Like Wall, Cousins retired for the entire 2019-20 season due to a knee ligament injury, missing out on his chance to contribute to the Los Angeles Lakers championship.
In this match, DeMarcus Cousins scored 14 points and had 5 rebounds.
This victory does not mean much as this is only a preseason game and it is not clear whether the Wall – Cousins duo will be with James Harden, but it will boost the morale for two players in need of a start new head to revive a career.
